The image duplicated here was given to us this afternoon at a teacher workshop on Issues in Auditory Processing for Students. It was used as an example of how an individual might have difficulty interpreting information (in this case visual rather than auditory) without proper preparation. I did figure it out before the lecturer told us what it was. How about you?

Don't give up too fast!
Wow- that's a challenge. I have a couple guesses. Sometimes I can get these by figuring out how the positive and negative space works, but I can't get the positive negative separated well on this. I'll have to wait and see if I'm right! (Or left)
Well, I was totally wrong! But then, I was trying to include every black splotch in the picture. When I looked at the solution, I realized some of them had nothing to do with the picture at all. So I feel somewhat vidicated. I don't know whether that means I'm right or left brain, but it certainly proves the instructor's point- without proper auditory instructions, I didn't know how to work with the information I received!
To show I am not afraid to tell on myself. Even after you told us , I still could not see it. I called my wife over and said , " do you see a cowboy on a horse?" In two seconds she said sure and showed me. There goes my detective badge.
Wow, now I can't see anything but a cowboy on a horse when I look at it. Amazing what the eye and mind can see or not see. it reminds me of those pictures where you have to stare and stare and stare until you almost go crosseyed to make out the three dimensional picture.
