I was on the hunt for goldfinch in the garden, but by the time I took my position with camera at the ready, they had all disappeared. Then I found this little bee in the middle of a sunflower. I've never seen anything quite like it. It looks like he has golden saddle bags. His colors blended so well with the center of the sunflower, I thought maybe he had donned camouflage to protect himself from predators. Well he didn't fool me.
