I was just stopped in my tracks by this front yard array this morning. I don't imagine any one else walking by gave it a second thought. That's what joining 365 has done to me or for me, I can't decide which!
Isn't it funny how you now see things differently? I find that myself. I'll stop and look at something, or quickly grab my camera, and my husband will quiz me on what I'm doing. My vision has gone from 20/20 to 18mm-105mm - I think I view life through the lens of a camera now. Great capture! Love all the splashes of yellow.
love, love, love your use of selective coloring! Theme shot? Not sure if it "counts" as minimalist, but love the texture and pattern of the brick steps!
Allison, selective colouring in B/W always works for me. I love how an everyday shot comes to life with a bit of selective colour.
One asks oneself would the image work if the toys were blue / green / red etc. ? I think yellow is probably the best colour for the composition, so perhaps that is what caught your eye...you saw a splash of yellow and thought selective colouring straight away :)
Great work Allison. When I had just joined 365 one of the first pics I ever fave'd was a selective colouring from you ......and that had a bit of yellow too :) http://365project.org/allie912/365/2011-02-02
Romper Stompers! Aren't those Romper Stompers? Well, they look like it to me. Nice shot, Allison. I find selective coloring-type shots call out to me too. :)
