The entire Lower School is seen here listened with rapt attention while Mr. Fletcher Johnson, former college athlete, professional basketball player, teacher, drug user, homeless person and now case worker for homeless veterans briefly sketched his downward spiral and redemption. He came to school to give thanks for the services provided by Freedom House.
Collegiate has supported the programs of Freedom House for 9 years by bringing canned foods for their food pantry as shown here. The classes also take a turn every Thursday morning making bagged lunches which are delivered to Freedom House and from there, distributed to the homeless. The ongoing program helps our students understand that this issue is not a one-time-a year problem. Hopefully they will carry this concern into the community as they grow.
Besides this being a great initiative, I also really like your composition of elements in this photo. The back of the heads in the front row, the speaker, props behind him and a nice backdrop with the stage curtains, nice layering. *thumbs up*
