Yesterday I posted a picture of a teabag ready to be used in the conventional way. That inspired me to post this picture of teabags being used in a very unconventional manner. Under the direction of a visiting artist, the students of the Lower School recycled used tea bags. The bags were opened and the tea leaves found their way the garden compost heap. The kids all designed patterns overlaid on the teabag paper. The visiting artist worked her magic on them and took them back to her studio to arrange them in this mobile. The finished construction was brought back to school and hung high on a library wall. The slightest air current stirs the panels gracefully, making a constantly changing arrangement. We are lucky to have such a grand building in which to display student art.
