This handcarved wooden gazebo at Lewis Ginter is off the beaten path. It dates from 1800. I didn’t catch all the particulars, but our guide told us it was a gift to the garden from a historic site in another part of Virginia. A few years later the original site decided they could really make use of it, but didn’t want to be rude and ask for it back, so instead they had a reproduction made. The two gazebos at Lewis Ginter are both offered for small weddings (which they refer to as elopements) They also offer many beautiful locations for larger ceremonies.
