Winter Contrasts by alophoto

Winter Contrasts

Today is bleak and gray. I took my camera out with me this morning, but found nothing interesting to snap. I am going with this one from my walk last week. I took this while chatting with a very friendly man in who lives in the bordering neighborhood. I loved the lighting and the contrasts. Trees are always wonderful, but there is just something to me about them when they are stark and bare.
Agreed about the awesomeness of trees in winter. Love the light glinting off the snow too.

@fueast I only wish that I had had some stronger shadows like your shot recently. Man I love a good shadow:). Thanks, Alison!!

@amandalomonaco I rarely see these to be honest. This morning was super cold with a strong sun which was just coming up.

A nicely captured scene.

Perfectly captured silhouetted trees. Brilliant.

Very nice.
And yes it is bleak and damp. No running around today - a cup of tea and a book.

@cdonohoue I actually did go running today...and a little running around, too. it was pretty miserable. We are also going to see a house that we are considering moving to to check it out in the light...not much light to see today:(.

@bdb3471 Bummer...I always tend to follow really good people when I have just posted a meh shot...like one of my dog or something equally lame. This would be one of them. Oh well...seriously, thanks for the comment, Brian.:)

Nice shot and love it in B&W, Amanda. Glad to know that you are not sticking to a photo a day. I need to get to posting as I did not take photos one day and got behind due to Hotmail being down one entire day. Not the beginning to this year I planned.

@bardejov It's actually snow. Totally looks like sand, huh? Thanks, lady!

Very pretty! It looks great in b&w and I love how the trees kind of converge around the sun!
January 11th, 2013
I really like this type of shot Amanda. The sun in the gap between the tress is very striking.

@soboy5 I Thank you, Danny!

@emrob I loved that, too! Thanks, Mandy!

@jonesp I only wish that it had been more contrasty with better lights and shadows. That's what I get for chatting it up while shooting. Thank you!
January 12th, 2013
Works very nicely Amanda, the light and contrast seem fine to me. And I like that subtle flare.

@edie Thanks, lady. I am finding that I am liking b&w more, the longer I do this:).
