Another shot of the carriage house at the Kings Mansion. I was really digging the light and shadows that day. I also liked the symbolism that this place was a shadow of what it once was. It was the fancy carriage house for the mansion in the early 1900's.
I'm really feeling highs and lows with my project. Streaks of inspiration and streaks of slumps. Wish that I had more consistency.
@tammeray And here is just one more that combines our challenge. I had hoped to get downtown this week for more architecture. I had sick kids almost the whole week so it didn't happen:(. Thanks for the push, lady!
Variety is a good thing Amanda. I think you have range and tremendous creativity. I think the very word "consistency" goes against artistry. Take another look at your project and see the fantastic scope!
I definitely feel the same way and think highs and lows are unavoidable. On the other hand, I have too much consistency...I'm in a rut in terms of what I'm shooting or trying. Maybe I will join get pushed. At least the project makes us try and keeps us thinking! I really like the three branch shadows here!
Some of the great masters painted the same scenes over and over, to get at some small thing that they wanted to express, or maybe as you say to just enjoy something that was beautiful to them.
I like the tree shadow and the glimpse of the tree on the right. The metaphor of the shadow is also effective. And I can definitely relate to your feelings of highs/lows. I'm now hoping that, on balance, the highs will outweigh the lows!
enjoying your 365.
You know we have been paired for get pushed.
You seem to be 'greyed out.
SO...my challenge is ..... Get that colour and fun back..Show me .
Bright shots of things colourful .. big or small. in or out . let your eyes drink in that colour and share it.
cool placement of that shadow on the carriage house... kinda ominous in a way... i think everyone has peaks and slumps... i don't think it is realistic to expect to be totally on your game 100% of the time... i think the important thing is knowing that you have what it takes, and that slumps will pass - ya just gotta ride them out :)
Wonderful shadows at play! I think that highs and lows are part of the process. If you just keep seeing, shooting and bringing your awesome personailty to the project, we'll all keep following!
I think we all get the streaks on 365! (My good streaks tend to be 1-pic long, bad ones can go for weeks! :)) Great shadows and textures in your pic too :)
The highs and the lows are usual with many people, Amanda! I started looking at my biorhythm charts and mostly it gave a reason I was so muddled on one day! This carriage house is a huge place - love the bricks!
@nana2r You are very sweet, Carren. Thanks so much. I think that I just want to be consistently good, not intermittently. I am hard on myself, I know...and I need to just lighten up and have more fun.
