One thing that I am kicking myself about my NYC trip was not getting a proper skyline photo of Manhattan. I probably could have gotten a good one from the Brooklyn Bridge, but I was too busy taking photos of idiots climbing on the railings, chatting, and knee capping myself on metal poles by not looking where I was going, but looking around for shots. I guess that means that I have to go back again someday.
Last night, Michael and I celebrated my birthday with a date downtown (I had to get back to an urban environment). We went to an amazing restaurant in Mt. Adams that had a great view down below of Cincinnati. I snapped this quick shot as we walked back to our car of a couple on the overlook. I liked their reflection on the wet pavement.
After dinner we headed downtown to Fountain Square for an outdoor concert, ice cream from Graeters and then back to pick up the kids at my parents. Before we left, we sat around their firepit and relaxed for a bit. It was a perfect end to my birthday. Tonight we have one more celebration at my parents house. I am blessed!
You've captured the light beautifully in the buildings and the loves make it alive! A very Happy Birthday to you! Wish you a Super year filled with wonderful pictures and all your wishes come true! :-)
Belated happy birthday - sounds like you had a wonderful day!
This is lovely - it really conveys that 'so in love' feeling! Love the sense of space and the lighting.
It was a great night out...and so needed as I don't get out much. Thanks for the sweet comments. I do have to admit that I was pretty disappointed to leave my dslr at home because of the rain. I did take lots of shots with the P&S, but it is just not the same.
What a wonderful shot, Amanda. Love the way the sun is hitting those buildings and the clarity of this couple, reflections and the city. You and your camera did a fantastic job in NYC.
@darsphotos This was actually back home in Cincy. I just had to go to the city for my birthday...missing the hustle and bustle of it. It has a lovely skyline. Thank you, my sweet friend!
@amandal Sorry about that, I did not read through what you wrote. Such a wonderful photo, Amanda. Did I mention 107 yesterday and 108 today and the same through the week and warm/hot on the coast. We are breaking records. I am so tired and got so sick yesterday even staying in our house all day long.
@kittikat I was so pleased to get them in there. I was shooting the skyline alone, but the human element just makes things more special. Thanks, Kitti. Really appreciate all of your sweet comments!

@archaeofrog It so looks like it could be us, but it was another couple. Thanks, lady. It was great!
@lfrans You are kind! Thank you, Liane!!
