Yesterday afternoon, we had the inspection for the house that we are considering moving, too. All went well, but for the excessive amounts of cracks in the foundation. The basement walls had a worrisome amount of cracking and there even seemed to be shifting going on in one of the cracks. Also, the floor in the garage is settling and bumps of rebar are pushing up...3 more inches and the rebar will poke through. The inspector told us that we would need a professional engineer to look at it and see what exactly the issues were and find out the cost of necessary repairs.
All in all, it was pretty deflating. Why does everything have to be so hard sometimes?! We did go back to the seller and ask for him to pay for the engineers assessment and we are waiting to hear back. We will see what happens with that. We don't ask for much in a home, we just don't want it to collapse on our heads. Sheesh.
We did get a glimmer of hope from a bank yesterday and more housing options may be opened up to us which is potentially great news.
I love to find the light in the darkness. I like the cool shadows that blinds make.
Great shot. Hope your situation gets sorted soon, sometimes things happen for a reason and make take a while to make sense. It will all work out, be strong in the meantime :-)
Really like what you did with the lines and the dark here. Sorry to hear the house news. It seems like every home improvement/shopping show has unforeseen problems, so at least you've spotted this potential one on the upfront. Good luck, friend.
A cool shot! I first try to guess what it could be before reading, but had no idea! Take your time with the house buying is´s a long-term investment, good luck!!!
Really appreciate all of your great comments on this shot and for your well wishes on the housing front. We are looking at another today. It looks pretty nice from the photos and it hopefully not so sketchy structurally. We also had some options open up to us that makes it possible for us to buy again now so that opens up way more choices. Exciting, yet busy times! Thanks, friends!
@riverlandphotos Really love your great comments, my friend. Congrats on your Get Pushed win this week. Loved your scary fun image. Taffy called you a he. I thought you were a she? I hate to make mistakes about people's genders. I kept calling a follower with a vague name lady and he finally said WTF do you keep calling me lady for?! Whoops!
Sorry for my absence! I know I looked at this photo but clearly didn't comment. Lovely light and shadows, nice and simple and like the space in the bottom half.
@thirtysevenways No worries. I do miss you when you are gone. How's it going? I liked this, too, only wish I had done a selfie in the stripes. Next time.
@thirtysevenways I didn't until after the fact. Must get one in before we move. I don't know how hard it will be to position the camera, though? We'll see. I've been exceptionally tired lately. I was worried about my health last week I was so run down and crappy feeling. Not quite as bad off this week...taking my vitamins.
I like how you composed this Amanda!
This is a cool shot. Feels film noir.
@malc Love your use of dodgy. I don't use that word enough. It is most certainly dodgy...it has radon issues now, too! Thank you!
@jodimuli You are the best, Joey. Thank you so much!!
