Well folks, I made it. #365. My second year of reaching that number. And boy, did I have some fun getting there.
I just had to bring back my old friend and alter ego, Red (if you missed my series check out the rrh tag below). And what better setting for the final photo than my old friend/enemy, the gazebo. I hadn't been back to visit since the move. She was looking good and seemed happy to see me.
It was cold and gray when I went out to take this shot and guess what happened as I was setting up? The sun cracked through the clouds and even made diamonds on the water. I felt like it was just for me.
Thank you for your wonderful friendships and support this year. Thank you for sharing my year and your beautiful worlds with me. Many of you have shown me places I will never see and I really appreciate you for that. I've loved your stories and you sharing in mine. You have made me laugh, cry, moved me to pray, and touched me with your kindness and words. And I even had the extreme privilege of meeting up with and shooting with some of you. My best day this year was my meet up with the amazing NYC crew and being shown the town by my friend, Michael Elliot.
As for year 3, will I stick around? Yes, I will to some degree. It will be less, that I know for sure. No set plan but to post when I am particularly inspired or feel like it. I'll see how that plays out and looks. I need a break and I need my life back. I have taken 365 way too seriously and it has taken a toll. I also plan to figure out and focus on how to make money with my photography...faves haven't been paying me too much;-). And I want to finally start that book that I have been putting off.
You all and this project have been such a gift to me and brought me joy. I hope that I have helped to brighten your day and have brought some smiles to your faces this year, as well.

Great smile from you and the Wolf just peering out from the basket. I like the concept of Little Red carrying a basket with the pelt of the Wolf, that is quite dark but you have certainly made it brighter with the extra additions of the Joy wrapping paper and the Gazebo of Lurve.
The comp has your boot chopped off a little... things I notice.

@m9f9l I did...about the wrapping paper, being the thrifty lady that I am, I kept it after one wear. It was still mostly good and barely wrinkled. So for a year it sat on a shelf in my basement (almost a year anyway). Just before we moved, I had the brilliant idea;-) to use the wrapping somehow this year and see if anyone picked up on it. I folded it up, put it in the red basket and hand moved it. I wonder if anyone would have said anything had I not mentioned it. As I was wrapping the fake present last night I noticed that the paper looked a little worse for the wear. I threw it all out today. That made me a little sad. It was such a good dress;-). Almost tarty! Thanks for your wonderful comments and friendship, Mary!!!

@amandal it has been fun to watch your creative journey...i am starting year #4 and needing to catch up a little bit...I am so glad I have been doing this since it has become a journal of our crazy busy lives. as I am slowly making digital albums it has been fun to look back and know when things actually happened since my over 40 brain has kicked in.

What lens(es) have you used to capture them? 50mm? 100mm? I only have a zoom and it works, but I hear that 50mm is better for portraiture. Any recommendations?

@bobfoto Still find all those typos and the fact that I looked to be typing drunk pretty funny. I noticed one or two, but it was too much of a pain on the phone to go back and fix. Love that we both made PP with our final shots. Congrats.
