This is me after day one of summer break. I was nearly killed by the day. Just the first day. So much yelling and wild, so much "accidental" hitting, so many time outs in rooms. Holy cow, how am I gonna survive 47 more days of this?! And we were busy today...I took them to the movies and to the library. Must get them running outside to wear them the heck out!
A weird idea I had that perhaps I should have just kept in my head. An idea for the Mad Hatters legends theme.
The hair reminds me of something my sister and I did when we were kids. After something naughty, we'd hold up our hair in horns and say, "The devil made me do it." Then we'd laugh and laugh. Good times. Hope today is a better time for us on the homefront.
And speaking of Mad Hatters, I am up today filling in for Rachel. She swapped with me earlier in the week. I went and did it today, something really naughty;)!! Check it out: http://365project.org/madhatters/365/2014-06-12.
@brianarmoured I used it for the lighting in my Pandora Hatter shot today and then bling had the idea when drinking a beer last night and just had to do it. Perhaps I could have looked less deranged, but it sorta worked for how I was feeling then.
@thomastoth Really appreciate that, Thomas. I'm really not THAT nuts. Just sometimes.
@summerfield I tried a few serious last night, but just liked the way this captured my current place. Today is better on the home front thankfully!!!
@cdonohoue Sheesh, I will be happy someday, too...and then miss parts. I've got to try to better enjoy the here and now because it is so fleeting. Thanks, my friend!
If that's what you can do with Pickmonkey I can't even begin to imagine what you'd do with Lightroom and Photoshop. Happy holidays.... love the accidental sibling hitting.
@jocasta Gosh, looking forward to trying it someday. I did finally spring for the membership to Picmonkey so I had access to everything. It's amazing what it can do or what one can do with it! Thank you!!! Yeah, it was an accident.;-)
Oh dear I remember those days, in fact I miss them now, too quiet around here during the day. I'm sure they will settle into a routine soon. Fun shot Amanda.
Just loved your narrative, so reminded me of school holidays when mine were young, I used to to end up screaming like a crazy woman at them.....but as you say, lots of running around is great......exhaustion quietens them down! Enjoy it, they grow up so quickly and the house isn't the same without their noise!
Ha ha! You are scaring me - our summer break doesn't start til next Tuesday, but then I have the feeling that I will be in the same boat as you! Great descriptive portrait!
Hahahaha. I don't even know what's going on here but I love it. Our summer starts at the end of June but she's got a week off now because my mom is in town. This is a bit terrifying.
But if you haven't been well, it will be difficult. Hope you don't add baldness to your health issues.
Oh I do miss those days. Just loved the long summer holidays.
Build yourself a shed.
Haha! Love it! Hope you can survive the holidays... I remember it well! Actually I have my son and his three boys living with me part-time. What a rude awakening that is, even though they are adorable :)
It's always hard to get used to the full force of the children on breaktime - I feel it when the nursery is closed for the day... Hope you get all used to the situation quickly and stay sane all the while ;).
@edie You know...me neither. I thought, I'm gonna do medusa now. Didn't give the face much thought, but this was how I was feeling so I went with it. Rough day. Yesterday was a tad better, but hubby came home to me drinking a beer...granted it was after 5, but...unusual for me. LONG summer!
@sailingmusic Next week, they start a week of VBS at a church up the street. I think I will have them do another in July. And we've got to plan lots and lots of activities and playdates. Plus I need to learn to chill out and just go with things better.:) Glad to give you a laugh!!!
Haha I used to feel like this! now I kind of miss those days I know i must be CRAZY! but both my kids now have their car licences and I never see them. Believe me I go even crazier now worrying about them out on the road driving it never ends sorry to say :( but this is a fun shot love it, enjoy!!
@tracelee Yikes, that is a ways off at this point. Crazy to think, though, that my son could be gone in 9 years. Sobering, really. Thanks for your comments, lady!!
@yrhenwr Wow, David if you can see gorgeous through this craziness, you have wonderful and very kind eyes. thank you so much for your words. That means a lot. I really do enjoy expressing myself through selfies, and this was so necessary for me on this night. Appreciated!!!
@jo13 Thanks, today was much better. They were gone for 3 hours this morning and will be all mornings this week. Like a dream. I whooped when I dropped them off and drove away. I was such a happy mama. Grateful for the time off:). Hope to fit in selfies somewhere this week, but my schedule is pretty tight with workouts and friend time. I'm also working at their VBS tomorrow playing the part of Mary, Jesus' mother.
