Our zoo trip was called A Night in Wolf Woods, so this is where we spent a good bit of our time. We were there during the golden hour and it was so very cool to see these creatures up close. They weren't so big and bad after all. Rather skinny and unthreatening, if you ask me. One challenge I had was that I was shooting behind a group of wiggly 7 and 8 year olds and I happened to be behind one who was close to my size. Her head kept getting in my shots!
The coolest thing about our time watching the wolves was hearing them howl. It was muffled and low, but a howl...the howl of a wolf. I hadn't heard that much before if at all. I nearly threw my head back and joined them, but I was busy trying to get a shot without a head in it. I think that they howled in a place on the other side of their enclosure and we couldn't see them.
All my wolf shots were overexposed and messed up. I still liked this one, though, it was special for some reason, and with some etsooi (editing the snot out of it), I was able to make it more special and make the exposure work.
So here we were...Friday the 13th, watching the wolves on the night of the full moon. HOW COOL IS THAT?!
That is so cool that you got to do that! Friday the 13th and the full moon.. now that is special (in my book at least). Wonderful rescue of your shot with a little ETSOOI.
That's a very cool processing !
Like the blinding light and the cold ambiance despite the sepia tones.
So just one question : where is the The little red riding hood ?
@teiko I hear ya,,,it is a nice big enclosure for them,,,very woodsy. Just two of them, sisters, and they have a den. They hopefully have a happy life considering. Thank you!!
@nanderson What an awesome compliment. thanks so much!
Timeless processing on this magical photo! We went to our local state park and saw the four wolf puppies yesterday, but two fences prevented any decent photos.
Fav! Wow, what a fun experience and so appropriate for Friday 13th and the full moon. Great job on saving the photo.....turned out rather ethereal with the tones and lighting. Loved Duran Duran, especially Simon back in that day :-)
@lleo I am so bossy. It gets me into trouble sometimes. When I was a kid, my mom had to sit in on my playdates to keep me under control. thanks for the fav and fun comment!!!
Such a cool shot, Amanda. I think it is probably better overexposed. Sounds like such a great time at night at the Zoo. Would love to have that opportunity.
