Yep, this is how I feel. A little dilapidated and tired. So tired.
Thank goodness it's the weekend.
This working business is rough. It's really crimping my style. Not much time for photos, or much of anything these days. I can't figure out when to work out. And did I mention that I am tired?
I like it, like what I do and it will be good to get a paycheck again, but the adjustment is hard and I am run down and somewhat overwhelmed.
Pulling back from 365 and I will post and comment when I can. I have to change my priorities now that I have way less time.
It's funny, I had way too much time on my hands before and now way too little. Wish there was a happy medium.
I'm sure you will soon settle into a bit of a routine Amanda. Enjoy your weekend and make sure you still find time to snap a few photos - more important than commenting :)
Happy weekend to you too, and lovely shot. I really don't know how people work full time, have a family AND do 365! I feel tired and worn out often, and that is just from running the family around. Look after yourself and enjoy the weekend :)
I am sad that you won't be posting so often as I enjoy your humour and your shots so much - - but thats just being selfish! You must do what you feel happy with and not feel pushed or anxious! Will look forward to the occasional one!
I know what you mean about too much time and not enough. I'm like you now in the not enough category suddenly and understand what it's like to be tired. I've cut way back on here as well, so take care of yourself, get some rest and find time to have fun too.
Great abandoned shot (you can always find the best captures to fit a mood!) This one just screams tired - hope you can get some balance going. Sending good thoughts your way and hope to "see" you soon!
that's how i feel right about now. tired and dilapidated. work sucks and the people sucks, too! sometimes it's not good when you do your work better than anyone else, you get dumped with so much and others get away with the so-called 'murder'. rest up, kiddo. it's the weekend. get carla and cuddle her up, you'll be right as rain soon
you'll find your balance soon enough, Amanda... but it is non-stop and exhausting... most days i get up around 5:15 to work out... then it's about getting myself and kids ready for the work day... bat shit crazy busy at work... home - either to prep dinner or taxi kids around to hockey practice and the like... most days i'm ready to drop by 10... photography is my happy place and my "me" space and i have convinced myself that it is in everyone's best interest that i carve out that time... since switching from a job i found very boring to the one i am in now (this happened last April) which is crazy busy and often involves me bringing work home to do at night and on the weekend, there have been many gaps in my project, and i do not comment anywhere near as much... but i still make time for the camera...
A few of us on 365 had a rough week last week :( Hope you get yourself into a more comfortable place with a work life balance. I love being busy all the time, but hate being totally overwhelmed, which was my last week.
I love this building, it has obviously lived a busy life!
so many wonderful shapes and textures - you will sort it all out but it takes time to adjust - in the mean time take care of yourself and pop in when you can
@april16 Event planning for a company that does job fairs around the US and Canada. The lady that hired me is on her way out and is training me, but not so there and is leaving next week. I went from being home full time for almost 10 years to working part time 4 days a week. Can't figure out fitting in the workout and that is killing me. And I miss my Clara time (she's 5 and in Kindergarten half days). Our mornings are cut short by a couple hours. Hope I adjust soon.
That is one tired building! I hope you get a lot of relaxation over the weekend. I always think happy medium must live in some fantasy land ha ha.Take care of yourself. I always look forward to your posts. They always brighten my day.
Hats off to you, Amanda. I know it's hard to adapt to the change. Sounds like a very interesting job and I wish you all the best. This is a very nice capture.
Awww..I know how you feel. Been there done that! But you'll adjust ! Will miss your energy and inspiration and hope you'll check in from time to time. I know I could not spend nearly this much time if I were working or had a family to raise. Many do, and I admire them.
Work and a paycheck are very important, but taking time for yourself is also!! I am sure you will adjust to what is best for you!! I'll miss your photos on a regular basis, but will have something to look forward to when yo do post!!
I love old anything...especially buildings!! This is great and love all the textures and colors!! Fantastic details!! FAV!
Hope you find your happy medium Amanda, it must be so hard to fit 365 in when you have so much else going on. How wonderful that you are you enjoying your job.
Great old building you found.
There's a pattern I've noticed in life that can be described as a series of plateaus. It sounds like you're in the messy middles on your way to you next one. You'll reach it soon enough, and a fresh new building will be waiting there. Take care. Love the title—it made me look again.
oh yeah - finding balance is the big on isn't it - very much hope you won't disappear, that would be a big loss indeed - and you will get used to it and discover a whole new seam of ideas and inspiration from this new lifestyle
@gozoinklings Gosh golly, so tough to figure out life with throwing work into the mix. Getting there. This week is better, but I have no time or desire much to shoot. Maybe it will come in spurts. I limped through a whole month with mainly fillers. I'll probably post a time or two a week? And I am still a Mad Hatter:). It's rather freeing letting go.
