More fun with the new lens. Was trying to get cute photos of the girls' faces.
LOVED Clara's eyes in this shot, but she was making an absolutely weird expression with her mouth so I cropped that out. And then one eye was better than the other so I cropped the less good one out...and then I was left with one eye and had some editing fun.
Note that she only has eyes for me...or at least her photo mama is reflected in that pretty eye that I used twice here.
Nice lens indeed. And such beautiful eyes my girl has!
@amandal When you want to isolate a subject, f/1.8 works so incredibly well. Just set your camera to aperture priority. Also, you can take indoor photography without flash so easily with this lens. I've used it for portraits, too. It is my favorite lens, the image quality is noticeably better than the kit lens.
Yay for Aperture priority. I shoot about 95% of my images in that mode, most of the rest would be in manual mode with a very small smidgen in shutter priority. Fun way to get in another selfie!
OK, I am not even going to try to come up with anything for this week's theme because this is such a perfect photo for it that it will sweep all the votes!! Wonderfully done....love the colors, the perfect symmetry, the selfie in the eye.....big FAV from me!!
@panthora Super duper kind of you. I was surprised by the lack of response to this. Too weird for some perhaps. I debated between square and round version of color around the eyes, too. Maybe round would have been more original. Thanks, Osia!!
@amandal Amanda, I meant every word I said about this photo, and yes, frankly, I am surprised that it didn't get more FAVs! But, sometimes it doesn't matter for the themes whether the photos are "popular" or not....it just matters how well they represent the concept! I have seen photos with very few FAVs win themes and challenges. And, regarding the shape of the frame around the eyes, you made the right choice with the square. It provides a nice counterpoint to the round shape of the iris....otherwise, it would be competing with it, and would be too repetitive to have an impact!
@pammerritt Thanks so much, Pam!!
