This is my first attempt to do a similar but very different shot that Michael asked me to recreate or try of a woman doing a handstand in a doorframe.
I had another location in mind, but it was overcast today and it wouldn't have worked as well, so I tried one of my favorite rooms...one full of windows. Trouble is, I was worried about kicking one out. And then I couldn't make it work with my remote...tried to lift arm and aim remote (not happening) so I did this with the 10 second timer. I did 20+ attempts and was exhausted afterwards. I had also just come from a barbell class and my muscles were mostly spent before I got started.
I was going to say Kudos for finding someone that can do a handstand.. BUT as I read further.. It was you.. double the kudos... I am afraid the only thing I would have seen had I tried was my behind about 1/2 way up.. specially with a 10 second window. LOL
You are shiny, happy and very fit! I was never very good at handstands (even in my younger, healthier days). Now THAT is one very creative selfie! (OH wow, I just remembered I promised to host a song lyric challenge after Christmas (2014)!!
Shiny Happy People , well thank goodness you had a great day !!! lol
Love love those windows .... You are awesome and now I want to try this but I'm thinking it's a death wish ...lol
Bravo on that shoulder stand especially after your other workout. You must have a great shoulder girdle. I really like the processing, too - the yellow rays of light and the little stars.
Haven't done a handstand in about 30 years and if I tried I would either fall on my head or out the window!!! Nice timing and being able to stand that long!! FAV! Love the processing too and the one star by your foot!! FAV!
Impressive that you can do a handstand like that! I can't; never could. Even more impressive that you managed to capture it properly on camera - remotely! Excellent selfie!
@soboy5 I remember that. They were a great band. How cool that you knew them from their beginnings. Creed was my college band, but somehow I never made it to an early show...only a big arena show once they were big. I so did love free college concerts, though. One was so small and intimate that we got to meet the band afterwards. The lead singer was also named Amanda.
This is great, Amanda. I love your stories and have missed them so much. Glad you were able to do this and wondered how you actually took this photo. Super woman. FAV
You look amazing, mama, strong and beautiful, and cannot only hold that pose for that long, but you also manage to take a photo of yourself doing that! Totally deserves a FAV!! Congrats on PP!
Oh, my God. That is dedication to your art. You get a hundred gold stars. There was a time when I could do a handstand or a headstand. Not sure now. I'm sure I couldn't do it in the 10 second timer window.
Love love those windows .... You are awesome and now I want to try this but I'm thinking it's a death wish ...lol
