Anyone other than Americans familiar with the old 80s series, Dukes of Hazzard?
Last night was Michael's 80s themed Holiday party for work. We needed to dress up. I was looking at thrift stores for neon, spandex and leg warmers. Looking online for costumes and then I remembered I had some short shorts and set about to making myself Daisy Duke. She was the sister and hot chick in the show.

I didn't have a cool car, so I made due with my mom van. I thought it was funny. Some of my facebook friends told me I got it all wrong with the van. Oh well, sometimes you have to make it work.
Some people thought I was crazy to be wearing "daisy dukes" in the winter. I thought I was being thrifty by making a costume and not wasting money on ugly 80s crap that I would never wear again. Plus I have a long, warm red coat!
One highlight was coming out of the coffee place late at night and seeing frost in the sky. The night sparkled. It was magic. It was a fun, fun night, albeit a little cold.
@emrob I still, luckily, mostly don't wear mom jeans. Just bought a bunch of pairs and I am the same size (though my shape is changed a bit:). Thanks, Mandy!
Wow, hot chick!! I would whistle, if I could, through the internet!! Don't know Dukes of Hazzard, but I bet you were the hottest 80s chick at the party! And, you did great not buying any more crap at the thrift store....we did that a couple of years ago for an 80s party, and yes, it is sitting in my closet waiting to see the light of day again!
