The Angry Pout by alophoto

The Angry Pout

Just letting some of my inner kid out, some inner feelings and conflict.

Last year, I started a kiddism series and this is picking up where I left off. Check the kiddisms tag for the others.

I am angry pouting because Michael was laid off this week and while I am ok with it and know we will be fine eventually, I am wanting to stomp my foot and say "Noooo, don't want to deal with this again!" We did just 4 years ago and then 9 or 10 years before that. It gets old. The wondering when, the tight tight budget, the possibility of a move, the stress.

But we are actually doing pretty well considering and even had a lunch date together today.

Hoping and praying that he finds work soon and in this area as we really hate to relocate our family again. Poor kids are like army kids...3 school changes in their short lives.

Back to smiling. All good, really. Happy weekend!
Bless you all --I hate to see you hurting like this , but it is good to get it off your chest (as they say !) --A great selfie to show your inner kiddy feelings !

looks like a healthy way to air your emotions. Being dignified and taking things on the chin is over rated

That sounds challenging for sure. You have a great positive attitude and you're right, you'll be fine.

Great pout out, Amanda. I hope your hubby finds a new job. If he's in the technology field, I'm sure he will find something soon.

Fab expression!

I love this series! You must have been quite a kid.

You have something to pout about Amanda... but at least you are not so angry or distressed that you can't colour coordinate your kit! You get a fav for making me smile... but maybe smiling is not appropriate, I hope it works out OK.

that sounds like a case for more than an angry pout - must be gut-churning and so hard for your poor husband having to absorb the news and then break it to you - all fingers and tose crossed - love that wall

This is such an appropriate photo for what is going on in yours and Mike's and your kids life. It is not fair at all. I hope he finds something close to home so you can stay there. Meantime, I am glad you are spending time together and are wonderful people with an awesome family. Take care of you as you are. Hugs from rainy CA. FAV

hopefully one day you'll look back with humour at this shot....one day,,, :o)

@maree_sanderson Truly I already am. The severance package is generous

@darsphotos rainy rather :-)!

@yrhenwr A smile is just fine. We are doing ok. Thank you. This is my favorite outfit.
January 29th, 2016
@amandal ...well that's got to help... :o)
January 29th, 2016
I'm sorry to hear that. I hope he finds something soon. At least you've kept your sense of humour. I'm sure this expression is familiar to anyone with children.

Well, that's some bad news that you are taking on the chin. Looks like some running might have been involved too. You are one strong lady with a very strong marriage. I hope he finds something near and a move isn't in your future.
January 29th, 2016
Sorry , hope and pray everything will be back to normal.
January 29th, 2016
Hope he finds something close by, so you don't have to move and you don't have too much stress. Glad you can joke it of with one of your great selfies!
January 29th, 2016
Oh, I've been getting a lot of this lip pouting recently!
Hope it all works out in the end!
January 29th, 2016
oh man. that just flat sucks. i like that you can use what's happening in your life and use photography to illustrate it or vent! bet you coulda come up with a sixwordstory title for this. i truly hope he is able to find work soon to relieve stress and keep the kids stable....besides, we'd all miss that back deck view if you had to move! LOL

Well, crap. Cute pout and selfie, but it is an upheaval, no doubt about it. Fingers crossed for you guys in the meantime. I admire your resilient and optimistic sense of humor, too!
January 30th, 2016
oh pooh, the tests will either make or break, I think make, stay strong you two
January 30th, 2016
Sounds very challenging Amanda, but you also sound as if you have your positive hat on! Great photo!! Fingers crossed for everything!

I'm so sorry to hear about your hubby. This seems to be so common now, with the world down turn. Wishing him all the luck in finding a new job. We went through it 14 months ago.
January 30th, 2016
I am so sorry to hear about your hubby's job. I hope it turns around quickly. Can we help in any way? Sometimes (a lot of times) connections can work wonders - pass a resume along, keep an eye out for postings, etc.
January 30th, 2016
Your pout really does sum it all up! After 22 years at his job my hubby was deemed redundant and let go three months ago. I can completely relate to your situation. .
January 30th, 2016
@kategoring Sorry to hear you are going through a similar situation. Is he looking all over or just in the area? Isn't it sweet in ways to have him home more? I think what helps us is that we have dealt with this twice before and seen it come out ok. Praying for your hubby, too:). Do you think you all will have to move?
January 30th, 2016
@amandal Thank you Amanda. Mike is focusing on jobs in the area, we would prefer not move. And yes, it has been incredible having him home :)
January 30th, 2016
This is a perfectly acceptable way to deal with the situation!! I'm sorry to hear of your demise, but glad you got to make a lunch date out of it... Layoffs are part of life but going through three of them is a lot in one's lifetime (as a couple). Best of luck, as you said you know it will be ok in the end...
January 30th, 2016
Amanda and Mike, that is not good news :( Hope it works out quickly for you guys. ........ and it ALWAYS good to release the inner child, life can be so stressful being an adult.
January 30th, 2016
@pixiemac It really stinks to be an adult at times. We all so wanted to grow up, but it sure does put a damper on fun when you have to be responsible all the time. Thanks, Sarah!

@kategoring Love that we both have Mikes:).

@kerosene Thanks for your sweet comments, Caroline! I love expressing inner emotions through selfies. It helps.:)

Something better is surely to come.
