With so many of us looking down, it's surprising more of us aren't falling off cliffs these days. Did you all hear that people did that in California playing Pokemon Go?! Ridiculous!!!
I am guilty of being a screen holding phoney more often than I would prefer, too. Sometimes, I find myself unable to tear my face away from my screen when my kids are talking to me.
Come on!! What is more important here...a dumb screen and staying connected all of the time, or your personal, meaningful relationships...your online friends you rarely if ever see or your flesh and blood loved ones?
Step away from the screen and talk to a real person today. With your mouth!:)
Happy Friday. Wish I could greet you all personally.
Great capture. I'm amazed at the difference when I'm out and about with my one year old twins. With my oldest kids, people didn't carry cell phones. I think a lot is being missed with babies and little kids these days. :-(
Wow! Great collection of phone'ys! My son lives next to Lake Merritt in Oakland and he said he hasn't been able to take his usual run since Pokemon Go because the lake area is filled with crowds of people trying to catch the lake pokemon and they are oblivious to everything around them. To think, I still remember standing in line for the pay phone just to get that few weekly minutes of talking with my parents when I was in college.
Great shot - a real sign of the times. Agree with you about putting away with gadgets... as I type a note to you on my PC! However, my children have friends here for a sleepover tonight so they don't want to talk to an old fogey like me anyway, lol!
Great candid
I recall the days when standing around like this more often than not we'd strike up a conversation - I miss those days - now i often get odd or surprised looks when I smile or chat to someone
Love it! It's fascinating to be the only person walking along a busy street not looking at a dumb screen! I feel that it is my responsibility to ensure they don't bump into me. I should try to find a way to lead them all into a lake.. or into the traffic... Pied Piper style!
We went into a restaurant lately and there was a crowd of pokemon people standing around the door! We had to push past to get in - they weren't even there to eat!
