Penguin in a Box

We got to meet her at the library yesterday. Sandy was her name. She's an Black African penguin. Her species is endangered. She is beautiful.

We got there early. The crowds, as I suspected, were crazy.

My favorite thing was seeing her waddle around the room before the show (prior to us being inside). I didn't get a shot of that cuteness unfortunately.

Afterwards, the kids were allowed to stay and touch her, pet her back, but mine didn't want to wait in the long line.

This penguin girl was definitely a fun thing to see at the library on a hot summer day!
Awesome shot

@lynnz I agree. I wonder why the keepers would do such a thing tbh. Lovely as it is to see her in the flesh and much as we need to conserve our endangered species we need to consider their comfort above all else xx

Must be something to do with the publishing firm, "Penguin Books"?
