Prayers for the People and Places Affected by Irma
Sad that St. Thomas and St. John in the USVI got hit really hard by the hurricane. I was there 2 years ago for one of the best trips of my life. Hope that I can get back there again someday and it is lush and gorgeous once again.
The wicked storm is now bearing down on Florida where all of Michael's family and some of our best friends live.
Praying that the people of FL are protected and spared.
I remember your trip there, was that really 2 years ago? You had nothing but wonderful things to say about it. What a beautiful spot. How truely devastating it must be, especially when you live on an island and have your power and communication shut off with no chance of getting it back in the near future. I hope the path that Irma takes yields the least damage, and your family and friends make it through okay.
And we up here in BC are still struggling from the worst ever wildfire year. Is this natures way of telling Trump he should start believing in climate change?
My son lived there for a year and we saw many beautiful photographs! Glad he now lives in a different place. I'm sure the warm seas are contributing to the intensity of the many hurricanes. Our seas are so cold round here, it means much less swimming but we have no hurricanes!
Thank you for posting this, Amanda. My nephew, his wife, and four children have left Port St. Lucie for relatives' homes in Pennsylvania. On FB, it said they were in South Carolina, so they got out. It's all so incredibly sad. I know Florida is your childhood state too.
Such a beautiful shot to counterbalance the really frightening news from the Antilles and Florida. It's the worst nightmare... we all hope for the best..

I hope your family is all safe or gets out so they don't have to worry
