Melbourne's Yarra River is often referred to as the 'river that runs upside down' because of its murky coloured water, which is due to suspended clay particles. The water of the Yarra is even browner than usual at the moment because of the heavy rain fall we have been having in its catchment.
Looks like a lovely day. The Hunter River in Newcastle is very brown at the moment too due to all the rain. As we went over to Newcastle on the ferry from Stockton last week someone commented that the river looked like cold tea.
