Haymarket by annied

Haymarket

Haymarket is a locality of Sydney's city centre, New South Wales, Australia. It is located at the southern end of the Sydney central business district in the local government area of the City of Sydney.
Sydney's produce markets were located in Haymarket from the early 20th century through to the 1980s when they were moved to a new site at Flemington. Paddy's Markets (entrance on right) still operate on part of the site of the vegetable markets as a produce and flea market.
As a thumbnail and in that frame looks very Lowryesque : love it

I think this is fab - a modern street scene but the processing makes it look like it could have been taken 50 years ago. Great stuff!

@paul2782 Paul your comments often send me searching on the net - I love Lowry's paintings, they are wonderful, thank you for introducing me to them - It has made me want to have a go at painting/drawing this scene

@philr thank you Phil - that is the idea that emerged as I was playing around with the colours and tones many areas of Sydney have that atmosphere about them - glad you like it :)
@derekvickers thanks Derek I liked the feel of it too

It makes my brain oscillate between thinking this is a painting and a photo. Well done!
