My Garden - Lagerstroemia - crepe myrtle

I love the trunk on this more than the flowers - although the flowers do attract the bees which is always a good thing.

These beauties, crown and trunks, are just gorgeous. Very nice detail in this trunk.

so that's what happens to their trunks when they grow. I have some young ones (though they might be a dwarf variety.)
