This week in People and Places I am posting photos from wanderings in Leura.
Leura is a suburb in the City of Blue Mountains local government area that is located 100 kilometres west of the Sydney central business district in New South Wales, Australia.
Leura Mall is one of the prettiest town centres in the Blue Mountains, classified in its entirety by the National Trust. You'll be surprised and delighted by galleries and antique shops. Stop for a leisurely lunch or afternoon tea, pick up some picnic supplies or just browse the merchandise.
This the hall has representative local significance as the home of two highly influential local institutions, the Returned Sailors and Soldiers Imperial League and the Country Women’s Association since its erection in 1920-1925.
Nice shot that sums up how I think of Leura. Many years ago we hired a cottage for a week in Leura - it was a beautiful holiday. It was so far back that we had a chip heater to heat the water for the bath.
