Cowra-3

Cowra is home of the largest prisoner of war breakout in modern military history. At 1.50am on 5 August 1944, over 1000 Japanese prisoners launched a mass escape from the Prisoner of War Campsite. 231 Japanese prisoners and four Australian soldiers lives were lost.

Such an incredible history lesson and place. This is a great shot. For some reason, the “Do Not Climb” makes me want to climb the tower. LOL!
