A photo Paul King posted earlier prompted me to photograph our gorgeous Bearded Dragon. I went in and asked my daughter to bring Louie outside for a photo shoot - she laughed, raised her eyes and said "photo shoot hey?" - she's glad we did :)
Great image and super use of the 50mm! I'm going to get mine out and use it more. I've let it go in favor of telephoto, macro, or wide angle, but clearly it deserves better! Do you have a full frame camera body?
@annied I have the D90 which is a "DX" and that means that it doesn't shoot in the full frame that a traditional 35mm camera would have done. The conversion is multiply by about 1/3 to get the mm you are shooting at (e.g., a 50mm is about a 65 or so mm compared to someone shooting with a D600 or other full-frame camera. My really wide angle lens (14-24mm) shoots as if it were a 21 - 35mm, as another example. In terms of image quality, it really doesn't change anything.
oh ok - I also have another Nikon - and old SLR - will find out the model tomorrow - I haven't used in years - the telephoto, wide angle and 50mm lenses are the same age - the reason I got the Nikon was so I could use those lenses - I plan to see if I can get film and take the old one for a spin now that 365 has given me a whole new perspective :)
@kathyladley thanks Kathy - he's very photogenic lol @ccb oh yes - he loves being in front of the lens - lol - unlike our dog who gives you the look and turns away at the last minute hahahaha
