Bits and Bobs

Three very different styles here and an interesting realization for me of what I like to do best. The bottom one is taken from a picture I took years ago at a beach and my least favorite, both in content and skill. The top left was fun but lacking in detail I think. the top right seems to be the style I like the most. I would be very interested in your opinion about all three
i find it difficult to do a seascape using watercolour but i like the simplicity of your art here. the dinosaur is nice and can be left as is but if you wish to put in more details, i believe it would be improved. the fishies are spectacular! yes, indeed, you've found your style. aces!

@grammyn Katy I love the shading on the dinosaur it's very three dimensional ( and at risk of getting there before Moni, love its shadow!)

Well done

@grammyn I just love your cute fish.

They are all very nice pieces of work but I love those fish

@grammyn All three are great and so different! Obviously your skills are brilliant in the ink and wash combination and a bit of whimsy. Maybe you can add some inklines to the other two as well.
The dinosaur just looks a bit unfinished ... seeing the fish, I expect the dino to benefit from some ink lines, as well.
Well done with the shadow... :D Nice one, Jackie! @30pics4jackiesdiamond
The beach scape can be left just as it is. or if you really ever feel like it, just try to add some bits of darkness (not much) in another layer, on the umbrellas&chairs and in the grasses in the front. You'll get a more dynamic feel and some depth. The sea and the sky are just fine as they are - to my eye.
I do hope that you see the beauty in looking at them together. They are so colourful and captivating, precisely because of the different approaches and subjects. I am so happy for you that you find the time and the joy in painting.

Fun paintings. The top two are cute. The bottom one more to my overall taste, but somehow seems unfinished. Too well done to be merely representative and not enough detail to be a finished product.

@summerfield I agree with you about the watercolor seascape difficulties AND the comment about the dinosaur but I am not sure how to add the details. Thanks so much for the help though
@30pics4jackiesdiamond thanks Jackie. Good to know the shadow works. I am more aware of that need now because of you and @monikozi
@ankers70 so nice of you to say Suzanne
@wakelys that doesn't surprise me. As a matter of fact I was thinking you might when I posted it!
@kjarn I am so happy to hear that Kathy
@monikozi I truly appreciate all your great suggestions and may try the ink on the dino as well. Adding depth with another layer of paint to the beach scene is a great idea but I am a little afraind to try for fear of making it worse rather than better. I always value your pinion
@randystreat thank you so much Kathy for the evaluation and I think you put into words what I don't like about the beach scene and will help me solidify any action I take to rectify it!
