We walked to the edge of this glacier this morning on a day filled with more incredible Icelandic landscapes. I had another difficult time selecting my blip, but this one won the draw. Look closely at the tourist near the edge of the water, she's wearing a red jacket, to give you an idea of the scale. Sadly the glacier is melting at a record rate. The now exposed black sand speeds the melting, holding heat.

It definitely is such a shame that our world's glaciers are receding at an all too rapid rate.They are such magnificent sights. We've seen them in Alaska and in the Antarctic.....
