There are many water birds on the mere at Ellesmere Shropshire . As we stroll along the mere these geese will often chase our dog Alfie (a lackie ) Fortunately Alfie is not interested in chasing the geese & will walk away completely ignoring them !! At the moment the Herons are nesting in the tall trees on the mere , but I only viewed the nests with binoculars from the viewing spot .
@mak2 Mary they are ever so tame as they are hand fed by visitors --with suitable food available in the shore side shop /info, centre . A nd they mill around your feet especially if fed .I love watching the water birds . geese ,ducks ,moor hens , & others .that are there -I will sit on the benches ,watching with camera in hand vhile my son takes Alfie for a walk through the Park & partly around the mere thanks for your comment
