Another pastel painting which I completed yesterday -this one I took inspirations of colour & style from a picture painted by the watercolour artist - David Bellamy
Self criticism-- the placement of the cottage is too central but when I started it I had visions of a few sheep to the right foreground but they did not look very good hence I chickened out & somewhat upset the balance of things !! never mind like every thing else ,there is a learning curve in what you do !!
This is so good, I think with pastel! The foreground looks difficult to get right but you have done so well there as well as the rest! This is just lovely, Beryl! I've just started my water colour with stretching the paper so I'm keen to start sketching first!
@genesis_one Thanks Corrie for both the comment & fav It's amazing how one can find a resemblance in a painting to a place you know I relate this to smallholdings in N. Wales.UK
@maggiemae Thank you for your comments , Pastels has never been my favourite media ,but this time round I have been quite pleased with the outcome !! Next project is a still life in watercolour I havent as yet decider in the items for a set up !!
@quietpurplehaze@dandolo@jo13@gamelee Thank you all so very much for your encouragement & comments -after over 12 months of being poorly & lost interest in my lovely hobby ,I am so glad to be able to enjoy the creative interest again !
I like this Beryl and for what it's worth I think the cottage looks fine where it is. Reminds me of the cottages in Pembrokeshire :) You're very talented!
@alisonp Thanks Alison ,most kind of you
