The bare stems of this bush is covered with new buds-. I just can not remember the name of the plant but for its Welsh colloquial name "Bottwm hen lanc " which translate "Bachelor's button "
Later added information -----
I have been browsing through my Shrubs & flower book and finally found the name of this shrub --Kerria japonica "Plentiflora "-- commonly known as "Jew's mallow "!! I really know its name well especially it's common name -- but this morning I just could not for the life of me remember it at all !!! Aah well name solved !
@quietpurplehaze Thanks -but no its not a winter jasmine - if any one mentioned the name ,I would recognize it !! perhaps I shall have to brows in my flower encyclopedia book !!
This is such a lovely capture and I see more on your site that remind me of the things I love too. Thank you for the follow and I am going to return the follow so we can follow each other's journey. Plus, I have to daughters who are both teachers so I think we have a love of learning in common too.
I don't know the names of many plants but this is one I do know because my lovely late father-in-law had it in his garden and we took cuttings and planted them in each of the houses we have lived in, I love their bright and cheery colour.
@quietpurplehaze Sounds the same --there is a single flower variety but I think the double flowered serrated edge is prettier --I do not know why I could only remember the Welsh colloquial name which I always think of it
We have a kerria but not sure if it's the same - it comes out an egg-yolk yellow in a shaggy flower? Thanks for letting us know.
