This beautiful bush I bought some 4--5 years ago -- and was so disappointing as it didnt do much but grow -- but this year, to my great delight it is absolutely covered in these delightful blooms , Sadly the label has faded and I have no idea of it's name or how to care for it !! anyone out there who can help ?
What beautiful blossom. I've called Ray over (gardener par excellence!) over from reading his book and afraid he does not know and says he guesses it is non-native. Will be interested if you find out!
Great that it has flowered for you. I think I might have seen one of these in the grounds of our holiday hotel in Gran Canaria. Now if I could summon the energy to get out of my sun lounger I might be able to find it!
Yes its a CHOISYA TERNATA ( Mexican Orange Blossom ), prune after flowering Beryl about 10 to 12 inches on the flowering stems, this will give you a second flush of flowers in late summer.
@tonygig Thank you so much Tony --I wish that I could give you a fav for your information lol !! I have noted the way to prune and hope I'l get my second flush !!
I want one of these & now I know the name will hunt one out. It might only flower in more southern counties though.....so beautiful & really doing itself justice this year....you must be thrilled Beryl!
