These beautiful little daisy flowers are in abundance at the moment . In Welsh we call them "Farwel Haf " meaning Goodbye or farewell Summer ! I find the Welsh name so appropriate as they flowers in September and into October . So a lovely , cheerful welcome to the 1st day of October..
Lovely daisies, I'm surrounded by rich blues and magenta's in them, can't say I have seen many white ones. They always remind me of autumn days and the welsh name for them is so apt.
Out of one root; its central orb is gold
But it wears petals in a numerous ring
Of glossy purplish blue; ’tis often laid
In twisted garlands at some holy shrine.
Bitter its taste; the shepherds gather it
In valley-pastures where the winding streams
Of Mella flow. The roots of this, steeped well,
In hot, high-flavored wine, thou may’st set down
At the hive door in baskets heaping full.”
Good bye summer for you and hello spring for us
