Daffodils - in Black/White

With very negative thoughts I have had a go at editing my lovely bright cheerful daffodils to a black and white image . The only merit I can see to this is as a learning stage for an artist to distinguish between light and shade and emphasise the shapes and detail without being hampered and confused with colour .
For me Flower photography in B/W misses the vial element of colour Pleas view on black it has so much more dramatic impact
I shall post the original full coloured version as a comparison ! I know which one I like !!!
the b&w emphasises the detail on the petals, but flowers for me should be in colour.

I prefer the coloured version, Beryl.

So interesting to see the difference from color, and the way form becomes the focal point in b&w.

I always love to see flowers in colour but detail is more pronounced in B/W.

Beryl, I think you are right (your comment on my photo earlier this week) - flowers should be in colour. The one you've posted in colour is so bright, vibrant and cheerful, that jsut doesn't come across in B&W

Dramatic image in BW. I am learning a lot by doing the BW challenge this month.
