Went to my favourite garden centre today which is so easy for me to shop on my buggy with many other retail outlets in the same centre ! Had lunch there and moseyed around .I avoided going into the "Christmas Section " and was pleasantly surprised that the other sections were not over "Christmassy " but pleasantly hinting the season ! I did not buy any Christmas goods I couldn't get motivated to look for gifts .but bought some violas for the two tubs on my front door-step. There is plenty of time yet to shop for gifts before I shall start panicking ! I have bought my cards , but shall not write them till the end of the month - on perhaps a lazy weekend ! I have baked my Christmas Cake albeit a smaller cake this year (I always used to bake the cake during the Autumn 1/2 term holidays when I was teaching - a nice time for it to mature !) Now it is wrapped in foil and in a container till I shall "feed it " and then marzipan, ice and decorate nearer Christmas ! - I still love this kind of Christmas preparation !
Sounds like a perfect day to mozy around, and avoid the Christmas shop. I'm not ready for that yet either, although it certainly feels like Christmas weather with the cold front that came through last night.
Your garden centre looks a great place to browse and have lunch Beryl . Good you have your cake baked already well before December you seem to be well organised.
You had a lovely day avoiding the Christmas crush, last thing we need our the crowds when we can look round during the quieter weekdays. Bridgemere is a lovely garden centre, nice wide aisles!
I love Christmas and whatever joy it brings with it, even cakes (all sorts) fancy food and, of course, a Scotch or two. I love garden centres, even just to look around and steal some ideas. Beautiful capture of this lovely garden centre.
