Growing tall and budding out by beryl

Growing tall and budding out

A frustrating morning when nothing seemed to go right , met my friend for lunch - good to chat , but came home with a headache ! Had not had a photo for today so a day early for my weekly shot of the amaryllis , It has grown so tall ( just over 2 feet tall ) But now the bulbs are starting to plump out a little . The container box said white amaryllis , but the flower bulb does tend to have a tinge of colour !! A lot will happen in the coming week !
It’s definitely getting there!

Looking promising Beryl.... exciting to see what colour they are...they look more than white! Too many headaches...any idea why? I have been waking with a headache too lately....I never get headaches normally!

Oh, it's going to look GREAT! Mine had that tint and you saw it's mostly white with small streaks of pinkish-rose tones. It's a really tall one, but the stem is not smaller than the ones I've had. Mine now has 4 of the 5 blooms on one stalk and the 5th about to pop. And it has the second 'pod' still inching up, and a total surprise as for a long time it looked like it would only have the one stem. Looking forward to seeing it's next stage!

@taffy Exciting to compare notes !! I hope it will have the peachy streaks - like yours rather than a stark white - I shouldn't sound so choosy when after all it was a lovely gift !

Two great images. I found it very difficult to photograph mine. I just couldn’t find the right spot. I’m looking forward to seeing yours open out. It does look as if there’s a hint of colour.

@susiemc - took this in situ Sue -- I dare not move it in case catastrophe occurs !! Took it at night due to too much backlight in the day !!
