With a heavy heart and tears , we said our last farewell to our little boy Alfie He had reached the grand age of 15 yrs and over the past few months - life became difficult for him . The most difficult thing was to take him to the Vet's this morning . In spite of the covid restrictions and not being able to go into the surgery with him We were able to go to the garden and Alfie was placed on a blanket on a table and we were able to be with him as he was put to sleep - much more pleasant an experience than in the clinical atmosphere of surgery room . I am sure Alfie is in a much better place - chasing rabbits in his doggy heaven !

Sorry I am not up to the usual commenting on your work tonight !
I am so sorry for your loss as I know how hard it is to part with our animal friends as they really are part of our family. Big hugs but a lovely photo of your dear little Alfie
So sorry for your loss of Alfie. I've loved seeing your photos of him. It's heartbreaking when we lose our pets who have shown such love and devotion. I'm pleased you were able to be with him in his final moments.
Oh Beryl, I feel so much for you & Gary....the worst decision to have to make but we know when it’s time. I have missed Archie in your photos recently so thought he must not be up to scratch. You did the right thing, sometimes we keep our pets longer than we should just for ourselves...I know we did that with Jenny.
Be proud of the wonderful home you gave Alfie. Xx
Oh no I am so sad to read this Beryl! It is so heartbreaking when we loose our beloved fur babies - they really are our family and so loved! You both have so many wonderful memories which you will always be able to treasure! Big hug xx
So very Sorry Beryl to hear of your's and Gary's sad loss of dear Alfie. Pleased to hear you were with him in the garden at the end but such a heartbreaking decision to make for one so loved. He had a good home and life with you and you must have many happy memories of him through the fifteen years he was part of your family.
Oh Beryl, I am so sorry. I am glad you could be with sweet Alfie in the garden. My heart breaks for you and Gary, Alfie was such a dear part of your lives.
Oh dear Beryl so sad to read your news. It is awful letting our fur babies go and the house will be so quiet without him. I have missed seeing Alfie in your recent posts, but I am sure he will be skipping along in doggie heaven now and at peace. Take care, my thoughts are with you and Gary.
So sorry to read this news. It’s so heartbreaking to have to say goodbye to our loyal pets. I’ve enjoyed your photos of Alfie through the years. Always thought he’s such a handsome puppy! To be outside was so much better than in the noisy clinic. Take care- my thoughts are with you & Gary.
So sorry to hear your news Beryl. Pets are a great loss, when their time comes. We felt exactly the same after ours passed at a similar age. They are part of your life for so long.
what a sweet photo, I'm so sorry, I understand your pain I felt it too when we left our pinscher and our dachshund....but they will always remain in our hearts
Alfie has been part of your photographic journey for so long! I just associate a wire-haired foxie with you Beryl. Its so sad but the right thing to do!
Be proud of the wonderful home you gave Alfie. Xx
Remember the good times and joy Alfie bought to your home and life

Thank you all very much for your lovely messages and condolences at this very sad time . Today the house is so empty - No one to greet when I came downstairs " good morning my littleboy "!! No one sitting by my side at breakfast to share my toast . no one under my feet when I was preparing lunch ! My hairdresser came to trim my hair this morning - her 1st response when she came into the house "where is he then !" Gary is also missing him so much ! thank you all :)
