A dry day but cold winds . Not a good start , woke up to find I had no hot water or heating !! Found my gas boiler would not come on! A about 10.00 am I phoned my gas engineers and as I am one of their customers with disabilities and was promised they would call between 12.00 and 6.00 pm today .Later a phone call saying they would be here within the next few minutes - The engineer was here at 11.45 am! what good service! ( I know the contract is not one of the cheapest -but with good respond to a call out!! ) Within the 3/4 hours the fault was detected and rectified . All done and dusted and the engineer on his way , and me with a smile on my face!!
As I had not been out all week I went to the local supermarket for a bit of shopping as I had no eggs delivered in my on line shopping this week! A fish and chips lunch at the supermarket café ,and I picked up a bunch of tulips to brighten us up. Not a great choice left available on a Saturday afternoon. I am sure they will look a great deal better in a day or two when they start opening out and do their own thing!

Lovely flowers. Good to hear you had your problem fixed quickly. We were without power for about 8 hours on Thursday. Our whole area was without power. No idea what the cause was but eventually it was fixed. Luckily we have camping stoves for making cuppas and a generator so was able to keep to keep the fridge and freezer running.
I love the yellow already, and they will be gorgeous when they begin to open. A good way to end your eventful day. (Glad to hear your hot water and heating got restored so quickly!) I really like the patch of the textured yellow-tinted background with this shot, too! Fav

For a rough start, it sounds like you had a good day after all. Glad they could fix the heat quickly. I think the tulip buds are beautiful and look like a nice cheerful yellow.
