Unlike last weekend no burnt offerings when I baked yesterday evening ! I made a batch of short crust pastry and made a lovely Bakewell tart with some of the pastry for the base !
One of my favourite puddings and also one my mother taught me! I like the inclusion of almonds on the top! Go so well with this cakey mixture on top of the jam then that crisp pastry underneath! At least it should be crisp?
We love Bakewell Tart in our house Beryl......you made this beautifully & it looks so tempting! I expect it might all be all gone before I can drive down to your house!
I love Bakewell tarts, I will have to get myself invited to afternoon tea. Sorry I have not been commenting recently but life has got in the way of photography.
