Our first snow was falling this morning, as had been predicted! It is about two weeks early. As you can see, it is not just a dusting! However, if our temperatures rise sufficiently today, it will melt away. So far, though, it is only 34 degrees F and already past mid-day, so...maybe not! Yesterday butterflies...today, a new season!
Cant believe you have snow already...just as we are coming into spring. My kids were at the beach yesterday....today we have the fire lit. Thats Melbourne for you.
@gypsy6 Hi, Deb! Thanks for dropping by! I haven't been to Australia as of yet but did spend 5 month in New Zealand in 1993. So, I know what it is like to have the seasons just the opposite of what we are accustomed to here in the Northern Hemisphere. :-) During the short transitions between seasons here it can be just as you described... (almost) beach weather one day and cozy-up-to-the-fireplace the next!
@bjywamer I can't imagine beach weather in Alaska. I've been gravimeter with Alaska my whole life and watch any docco's I can. I will get there one day closest ive been is the napa vallley:) You have a follower
@gypsy6 Hey, Deb! Naturally, when I referenced "beach weather" it was a bit tongue-in-cheek! :-) However, here in the Interior of Alaska it IS the place of extremes when it comes to weather. In fact, a long-standing record for the number of days when summer temperatures topped 80 degrees F was broken this year. We had a very hot summer! That was after last winter persisted two weeks longer then normal! Thanks for the follow! No doubt you'll possibly see more of the Alaska (snowy) landscape than you presently think you wish to see! :-)
