It was on this day in 1983 that the Edmonton Convention Centre opened its doors to the public for the first time. It cost $82 million to build. 2400 people gathered to watch the Premier and Mayor unviel a plaque.
Today it is known as the Shaw Conference Centre. It sits on the north embankment of the river and the newest hall gives a grand view of the river valley.
It is also a great location for a lot of photo ops. One day I will go back and take a view more.
Have a wonderful weekend everyone
