On Sunday evening we spent time watching slides of Melody's family from many years ago. This is a shot of the family car, a volkswagon beetle, taken in Banff National Park.
They somehow got lost in their journey one day and ended up on this rather rough road. They continued on until they got to a point where the road was very narrow and they were sitting on the ledge. Fortunately they managed to back up and get themselves turned around and back to safety.
I have heard this story so many times over the years so it was kind of nice to see a picture to go with it after all of these years
That is a scary situation..one good thing in their favor was that the VW is small and that way easier to turn around on a very narrow road. oh how nice it is to go and look at old pictures..all the wonderful memories.
they should've sent this pic along with the story to volkswagen. the beetle as a family car - i like that! although in high school, we did fit 9 into a beetle like this. and then someone did something and we stampeded out to get fresh air. ah, the stories the beetle had witnessed.
