In !990 on our way to England we spent a week in New York City working with Metro Assembly in Brooklyn. We had a day to go and see some of the sights. So this is one of my shots from that day. I have not had the chance to get back to NYC since then so I have no idea what this spot looks like now but I am sure someone out there will be able to tell me
This is the South Street Seaport. It looks sort of like this now except its all decked out with bars, restaurants and shopping. They even put in a swnaky beach front night club on the other side. Cool vintage looking shot here.
Terrific shot captured at a nice angle. Love the tones. New York City has changed so much over the years. Last time I was there 15 years ago and several times in the 60s as well as a 2 week trip in the mid 80s for my daughter's 16th birthday. It's one of my top 5 favorite cities.
Well captured. For all of your travels you have a good memory for the details. City landscapes change so quickly. I have never been to NYC but I hope to some day.
South Street Seaport. I live in NYC and remember when that area wasn't built up--it was basically the fish market and a couple of restaurants. I wish I had taken photos back then! When the weather gets warmer here, I'll go there and take some shots.
The last time I was at South Street Seaport was when they held the ticker tape parade for Desert Storm. We brought our sons in so they could be a part of history and ended up there for a bite to eat. While eating we met three men who'd served in WWII. The boys were totally enamored with them. It was a great day. I think it had been somewhat built up by then, but I'm not sure- there were so many people walking around and enjoying the waterfront! Good shot Brian!
Lovely shot
