So this is the second of two planes that sit out front of the Aviation Museum. This is a Norseman V Float Plane. Edmonton is known as the Gateway to the North and has a long history connected with Bush Pilots who would have flown from Edmonton up to the Canadian Arctic and this is an example of the type of plane that they would have used. The building in the background is part of Hanger 14 which houses the Museum
Fun photo, Brian. I like the pov and paint job on the plane. Also fun to think about Edmonton as the gateway for bush pilots. I always love learning things on 365.
So neat looking!!! I like its colors, great shot! How has your weather been the last few days down there? I am located 5 hours north of you and we have gotten quite a bit of rain but today was hot and windy!
I see why it's called the floating plane with the intriguing landing devices--how neat to see them. I imagine that it would be very cold in the Arctic, but it doesn't look as if it's made to land on ice, just water or maybe even snow? The Aviation Museum sounds so interesting!
@c17ehse Well then I am sure you would truly appreciate this museum. I do have plans to go back and visit it and get a whole lot of shots from the inside
