A Trip To The Zoo...I Love Lucy

Well the star of the Valley Zoo is its longest resident. This is Lucy who has been at the zoo for 36 years. When we were there she was out for her daily walk. So I went and caught up with her and managed to get a few shots and have a nice conversation with the workers who were taking her out for her walk

I got a shot of her last time I was there too! But I wasn't as lucky as you and didn't get to see her while out for her walk. I did however pass by the wolves when they were out on their walk

She is beautiful, I have a soft spot for elephants. I believe an attempt has been made, or is being made, to move her to a warmer and bigger and more elephant-friendly place, as has finally been done, thank goodness, with the elephants from the Toronto Zoo.
