Walking Into The Past ........Humble Beginnings

.The McDougall Methodist Church here in the park is the original building built in 1873. It was the first church located outside of the walls of Fort Edmonton.
Here is look at the inside of this humble little church built by Methodist minister George Mcdougall
In 1892 it was moved across the street as a new church was built on its site. In 1904 it was moved back across the street as Alberta College used the building as a boy's dormitory until 1920.
In 1946 a historic restoration took place on the building and in 1978 the building was moved to Fort Edmonton Park
So lovely that it has been preserved.
