Old and New by bkbinthecity

Old and New

Located in Old Strathcona is an example of two completely different styles of architecture. In the foreground is Station Park a new building that just opened to a number of retailers. The building is unique in that it was constructed using storage containers. Behind it is the old CP Rail Station that opened in 1903. Today it is home to a local bar
Very interesting contrasts

Good that the old station was not torn down but was given new life even if it was a bar. Nice shot.

An interesting contrast in architectural styles. Near York city centre there is a temporary shopping area made of shipping containers, while the landowners decide what to build on the site. It is aimed at giving opportunities to businesses just starting up.

Wonderful photo. Both buildings are great and even if they are very different they coexist nicely.

It’s amazing what they can do with storage containers….eg Christchurch NZ after the earthquake. This looks very smart & modern.

The two buildings certainly contrast with each other.
