Tried to find something colorful for my picture of the day...no luck but did find this cool old farmstead just before the sun went down. Check out that old car sitting there.
Such a beautiful scene, and the old car and the coloring gives it a really wonderful rustic feel. All you need is a cute old guy in a wool suit with a pocket watch. Great picture!
This is a lovely photo. I always find it fascinating that the picture just appears if we don't get in our own way. I love your editing and the focus. The car is very cool.
This is really SO beautiful!!! The sky is glorious... Love the way the yellow in the grass almost acts like a reflection!! The old barn and car are so vintage...
Spectacular, Paula! So well composed and the colors are perfectly seasonal. Love the way the old car gives weight and character to this photo. So well timed with the sun setting between the house and barn. This is very cool.
Yes, very spectacular! Just drove across Iowa from Michigan to Colorado. So many opportunities to stop and catch the light but in too much of hurry to see the grandchildren. Perhaps on the way back.
Beautiful photo Paula and welcome to Project 365. Love your photos you have posted to date. I am an amateur for sure having only had my Nikon D5000 since Christmas last year and took on Project 365 a way of learning how to use my camera. It was a perfect lesson as every day you must pick it up and go for a photo. Stick with it and you will not only learn lots but make some great friends on Project 365
Thank you all SO much for your kind words! I just knew when I saw it that it was going to be my picture of the day. Some days are easier than others for sure!!
This is totally BEAUTIFUL. I would gladly look all day for a picture as GREAT as this one. I love the colors and the composition and the subject manner.
The shape of the barn is fantastic.....and I love the old, abandoned car.
I have made this a favorite.

@dora@junebug Thanks so much for the kind words & warm welcome! I'm having a lot of fun doing this project but I admit I do start to panic when it gets late in the day and I have no picture! It's getting better though because I browse through the pictures and I am inspired!
@onehicchic Thank you Donna! Iowa does have a bit of a split personality....part of it is so very rural with manys signs of those days gone by...decaying barns are everywhere, quaint little farming communities with a population of a few hundred people and then you go to the bigger cities and it's all busy, busy, busy, traffic everywhere & nothing but shopping malls and big box stores on every corner. Best of both worlds I guess.
@lily Thanks so much....taken right here in Iowa! No shortage of rustic barns around here!:) Oh how I wish we had some mountains, forests or an ocean nearby!! :)
@petersonsheri Ha! Sheri, I told my husband we had to go back and redo the picture only this time he had to dress up like a cute old guy in a wool suit with pocket watch....so far he's resisting that idea! :)!
@wontletyou_go@lauren211@roejan Thank you, I love all the comments! I really enjoy coming here everyday and checking out your amazing work....I can't wait to pick up the camera and go shoot something new & different! :)
@girlie@stepheesue@sevastra08 Thank you, I was stunned to see that! I must give all the credit to the barn and surrounding scenery....it was an awesome sight and I wanted to capture it the minute I saw it. It was dumb luck on my part to happen upon it at that particular time of the day with the sun going down! It was a case of being in the right place at the right time.
@aprilrss Welcome to 365 April! .I'm fairly new here too....just a couple weeks.! Thank you for your kind words and the follow....I look forward to seeing your photos! :)
