To hear the weather guy you'd think the end of the world was coming with this lastest winter storm....well, we all lived to tell the tale!! We were lucky to be spared the worst of the winter storm yesterday....we only got somewhere around 8-10" of snow but unfortunately weren't spared the high winds which made for blizzard conditions and some really big drifts this morning. It was a beautiful sight this morning though, no doubt about it and the sun shone brightly all day so I just had to get out this afternoon so I could get some pictures as the sun was setting.
@wac Thank you Wendy for the nice comment. I didn't use any filter, but I should have to tone down that glowing sun. I adjusted the contrast, sharpened and a touch of HDR in Picnik.
Spectacularly beautiful shot. Love those shadows. I went out early yesterday morning and everybody was blowing their driveway's, the plow had already come and downtown they were hauling off truckloads of snow to the city dump. I said, "everybody was talking gridlock and disaster on the tv, but in Iowa people everybody just gets out and does what has to be done".
